As you may know, I had the most fun doing this assignment I had to do all year. My group consisted of David, Michael, and Steven. We decided not to go with my topic, but to go with Michael's topic of human trafficking. The topic we chose actually can be connected to human trafficking, which is what I learned from this assignment. There are actually many humanitarian aid groups that go out and help people who lay victim to human trafficking. I cannot say we experienced any problems writing the documentary. We all worked really well in organizing and putting the video together. The hardest part in doing this project was just getting all of us together, which was not all that terrible. After getting together, the project felt like it did itself. Our design of the video was focused around the footage we shot. Then we went ahead and put the pictures and our voices around it. I believe our footage was the most effective aspect of our video. It kind of set itself apart from the rest and gave it some visual appeal.
Moving on to the different types of appeals, I think we covered ethos, pathos, and logos really well. We tried to use Steven's confession skit in the footage as some pathos as well as a lot of the pictures. The Ethos came from the credible sources we sited while speaking in the video. Lastly, the logos were focused mostly on Michael's speaking role and little at the end with mine. Hopefully these appeals reach out to interested citizens that have not make the complete leap over the hurdle. Overall, I feel we did a good job on this documentary in making it something interesting for our audience to see and be inspired by. |
